Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday raised sharp questions over alleged donations of ₹4,300 crore made to unnamed political parties in Gujarat, citing a media investigation report.
According to the report, ten obscure political outfits received donations worth ₹4,300 crore but declared spending of only ₹39 lakh. Sharing the findings on X, Gandhi wrote, “There are some unnamed parties in Gujarat whose names no one has heard of — but they received donations worth ₹4,300 crores! Where did these thousands of crores come from? Who is running them? And where did the money go?”
He further targeted the Election Commission, asking, “Will the EC investigate — or will it ask for affidavits here too, like before? Or will it change the law itself, so that this data can also be hidden?” Gandhi also tagged his post with #VoteChori (Vote Theft).
Meanwhile, in Bihar, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav mocked the ruling NDA, calling it “Nahi Denge Adhikar” and predicted it would fail to secure a majority in the upcoming Assembly elections. “The way ‘vote chori’ is happening, people are aware and will protect their votes,” he said.
The remarks came amid the ongoing ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ led by Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Covering over 1,300 km across 20 districts, the 16-day march seeks to highlight alleged irregularities in voter rolls and will conclude in Patna on September 1.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also lashed out at the BJP-JD(U) government in Bihar, accusing it of failing to address unemployment, inflation, migration, and the economic crisis while “conspiring to steal votes to stay in power.”
The Bihar Assembly elections are due later this year, though the Election Commission is yet to announce official dates.
